"Pregnant and parenting women with a substance use disorder experience extremely harsh judgment in our society and are often hesitant to seek care because of that. They may feel ashamed, defeated, uncertain, be fearful of judgement or poor treatment when they do seek care, and, most often, they are terrified of losing their children. We understand that and are here to help, at any point in someone’s active addiction and throughout their recovery journey. A huge part of our program’s success is the support, encouragement, and accountability offered between group members. Each participant is a valued member of the group and members are invested in each other’s success. During weekly peer-led group meetings, members work on individual growth and development, support each other in challenging times, and celebrate each other’s milestones and personal victories."
